December 6 South Africa - it's all narrow gauge down here, man! Chris Walker Unfortunately Chris Walker went down with flu, so his talk was postponed until next April and replaced by the one below:
German and Spanish narrow gauge Mike Swift Slides ranging from Spanish street railways to East German mining operations; from a mining locomotive in three sections to a 60 m.p.h., 2' gauge trolley based on a Yamaha motorbike.
There was also a presentation to Ron Redman to commemorate his 50 years of Chairmanship of the NGRS. Alan Burgess, the current Chairman, presented Ron with a fine painting: the original of Hudswell Clarke helps to build the Guildford Bypass, by Jonathan Clay.
December 11 Pre-Christmas meeting   Slides and videos, etc., with a light supper provided at £2 per head. Bring a box of interesting slides with you. 2nd Thursday, not 1st

Based on a wealth of personal experience in the field, including how to find your way out of Hungary (get thrown out by the Police as a suspected spy), and how many railway enthusiasts fit in a bed (don't ask).
March 5 One railway, two lines Phil Brown Deputy Operating Manager of the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway
A pacey presentation, full of handy hints including how to risk blowing up a Fairlie by going the wrong way up the wrong hill, and how to drive a locomotive on the right hand side down a public road.
April 2 South Africa - it's all narrow gauge down here, man! Chris Walker   Delayed from December last year
