Removal of doublespace.sty and the spacing environment The spacing environment is only used in imo2.sty in two places: in the definitions of WGNpaper and WGNcaption. It was used in the latter to get the inter-line spacing correct, but this seems to be correct without it now. It was needed in WGNpaper only to support its use in WGNcaption: without setting spacing to 1.0, everything was double-lined. The doublespace.sty package is now obsolete and replaced by setspace.sty. This latter seems to behave slightly differently, however: the spacing is not quite the same. Since the spacing environment is not now really needed, it was decided to get rid of it. The cost is that the spacing is now slightly different, so re-LaTeXing old files may produce slight differences, requiring the .tex files to be tweaked to change \vspace{} to get the column breaks correct. It was decided that this was best, as such tweaking would be needed with setspace anyway. (NB: 34:5 has been tweaked in this way.) Actual changes: BeginStandard.tex: doublespace.sty not \usepackage'd imo2.sty: \begin & \end{spacing} removed from WGNpaper and WGNcaption. CT 2006dec04 2. Corrections & improvements to TidyUp, MakeIssue, MakeBibcode This used to fall over with long \thanks strings, e.g. from RMS2005. Various other tidyings-up, inc. NASA-ADS now generated better for IMC and RMS. TidyUp can now be run with an optional command-line parameter nocompile which prevents it from doing a CompileBody as it starts. Some shell scripts changed to allow for probably bash bug. Bug: "cd -" prints the destination path on stdout. Fix: add " > /dev/null" on the end. 4. RMS style (rms2.sty, ContentsPage.tex) brought into line with what RMS are actually doing. IMC made a copy of this (they are using the same format) with the necessary changes of page title and RMS to IMC. ImoLatE v2.3.07 (2006jan25) Development version 1. MakeBibcode now checks that the NASA-ADS bibcodes are valid. MakeIssue (and thus CompileAll and TidyUp which call it) uses this at the start, and flags any errors and halts. 2. MakeIssue (called by CompileBody and TidyUp) improved. Checks for missing parts of paths (../paper/ in \epsfig etc.) now allow \epsfig{figure= as well as \epsfig{file=; also \includegraphics; also optional parameters. Indentation \newcommand for Meteor Beliefs Project moved to wgn2.sty. 11. \bibcode: margins aligned properly; works with 2nd paper on page. 12. sed scripts to prepare bibtex files from old \RefAut (etc.) and \artref (etc.) forms. 11. Much tidying up. Old known problems left for later: 1. Shell scripts don't specify shell at top. 2. Use of shell scripts requires user to have . (dot) in path. New known problems: 1. Many fonts work badly in PDF files (render badly, cannot be selected as text). Fixed for body text, not yet for titles (etc.) Related changes: 1. Distribution mechanism (v1) implemented. 2. End of space problem? 2005sep18 All WGN back to 32:3 compilable under 2.3.02, though some reference formatting problems recognised and unfixed.
